Headway Thames Valley
Headway Thames Valley is a charity based in Henley-on-Thames helping people in Berkshire and South Oxfordshire to live life after brain injury.
Approached to redesign their non-responsive outdated website which was slow to load and difficult to navigate.
Working closely with the charity I learnt about the everyday challenges their clients face with living life after a brain injury. These discovery meetings also highlighted the need for the charity to update their existing copy to communicate their services and support more clearly.
The new fully responsive website now uploads faster (1-2 secs from previous 8.5 secs), has simpler navigation, eye-catching design, a colour palette determined by their new logo, cleaner page layouts, and updated content and images.
Bold typography used for personal stories and testimonials highlights the difference the charity has made to each client and their families. Calls to action are clearly visible throughout the website to help generate income, increase volunteers, and raise awareness of the charity with sponsors and supporters.
The website has been very well received and lays the foundations for Headway Thames Valley to develop its online presence and continue in its mission to rebuild lives after brain injury across Berkshire and South Oxfordshire.
How I helped
– Website audit
– Website redesign
– Website build
Rob, thank you for all of your amazing work in designing our website. I’m sorry it took us so long to get to this point but I’m glad you encouraged us to take the time to produce good content and do it right.
I strongly feel that the new website will massively help our profile and ensure we manage to reach everyone who can benefit from our support – it’s nice we can now guide people to something we’re proud of.
Since launching, I have already had another charity get in touch regarding their website design, so I’ll be pointing them in your direction.
